Registration & KYC
Get verified and set up your account the right way from the start.
Account Eligibility

Before registering, make sure you meet Ajaro's eligibility requirements. You must be at least 18 years old, legally permitted to conduct business in Nigeria, and hold a valid Nigerian bank account in your name or your business name.

Individual Vendors
Register as yourself. Ideal for freelancers, artisans, and sole traders operating under their personal name.
Business Vendors
Register as a CAC-registered business. Required for limited liability companies, registered partnerships, and incorporated trustees.
Not sure which to choose?
If you have a CAC registration, always register as a Business Vendor — it unlocks higher payout limits, enterprise plans, and establishes more trust with buyers. You can upgrade from individual to business later but you'll need to re-submit KYC documents.
Signing Up

Registration takes about 10 minutes. Head to /sign-in and follow these steps:

1
Enter your basic details
Your full name (or business name), a valid email address, and a Nigerian mobile phone number. You'll receive a verification code by SMS.
2
Choose your vendor type
Select Individual or Business. This determines which KYC documents you'll need to upload and which payout structure applies to your account.
3
Create a secure password
Use at least 8 characters, including uppercase letters, a number, and a special character. You'll also set a 4-digit PIN used to unlock your dashboard after periods of inactivity.
Never share your PIN with anyone — not even Ajaro support staff. We will never ask for it.
4
Agree to the Vendor Agreement
Read and confirm the Vendor Agreement, Terms & Conditions, and Privacy Policy before submitting your application.
5
Submit and await approval
Your application is reviewed within 1–2 business days. You'll receive an email confirmation once your account is approved and ready for KYC upload.
KYC Documents

After account approval, you must complete identity verification before your store can go live. Upload your documents through Dashboard → Account → Verification.

BVN VerificationRequiredRequiredEntered directly in form
Proof of AddressRequiredRequired≤3 months old, PDF/JPEG

Accepted government IDs
We accept National Identity Cards (NIN Slip or ID card), International Passports, and Driver's Licences. Expired documents are not accepted. Your name on the ID must match exactly the name you used during registration.
Approval Process

KYC review typically takes 1 business day for individual vendors and 2–3 business days for business vendors. You'll receive an email notification at each stage. While your KYC is under review, you can set up your store and add products — they just won't be visible to buyers until your account is fully verified.

Expedited review available
Enterprise plan subscribers receive priority KYC review with a guaranteed turnaround of 4 business hours. Contact vendors@ajaro.com.ng after uploading your documents to request expedited processing.
2
Store Setup
Build a store that earns buyer trust before they even see your products.
Creating Your Store

Go to Dashboard → My Stores → Create New Store. Each Vendor Account supports up to the number of stores allowed by your subscription plan. Every store has its own branding, product catalogue, and performance analytics.

1
Choose a store name and slug
Your store name is your brand. Your slug is the URL — e.g. ajaro.com.ng/store/your-slug. Choose carefully — slugs can only be changed twice per year.
2
Upload your logo and banner
Logo: minimum 200×200px, square, PNG preferred. Banner: 1400×400px recommended, JPG or PNG, max 3MB. High-quality visuals significantly improve click-through rates.
3
Write your store description
Tell buyers who you are, what you sell, and why they should trust you. Include relevant keywords — this description appears in search results. Aim for 100–200 words.
4
Select a subscription plan and go live
Choose the plan that fits your business size. You can upgrade at any time. After selecting a plan and completing payment, your store is instantly published.
Store Branding Tips
  • Use a white or transparent background for your logo — it looks cleaner on buyer-facing store pages
  • Your banner should visually communicate your category. A kitchen appliance vendor should show product photography, not abstract graphics
  • Avoid overly text-heavy banners — buyers scan visually before reading
  • Keep your store name short and memorable. If your business name is long, consider a shortened store name
Store Settings

Under Dashboard → Store Settings you can configure your handling time (default dispatch window shown to buyers), return policy statement, business hours display, and social media links. These settings affect how buyers perceive your store before making a purchase decision.

Set a realistic handling time
Buyers see your stated handling time on every product page. A realistic handling time (1–2 days) set and consistently met builds trust far faster than an optimistic 24-hour window you frequently miss. Under-promise, over-deliver.
Subscription Plans

Choose the plan that matches your business stage. All plans include the 5% platform fee on transactions and access to the vendor dashboard.

3
Product Management
How to list, optimise, and manage your product catalogue.
Adding Products

Navigate to Dashboard → Products → Add New Product. Complete all required fields before publishing. Incomplete listings will not appear in search results.

1
Select your store and category
If you have multiple stores, choose which store to list under first. Then select the primary category and subcategory that best matches your product — this determines where it appears in buyer search filters.
2
Write a clear product title
Use the format: [Brand] + [Product Type] + [Key Spec/Variant]. Example: "Ariel Liquid Detergent — 2.5 Litre, Fresh Scent". Avoid all-caps and avoid stuffing keywords.
3
Write a detailed description
Cover: what the product is, key features and benefits, dimensions/size/weight, materials, what's included in the box, and any important usage instructions. Descriptions over 150 words rank better in on-site search.
4
Set price, stock, and SKU
Set your selling price in Naira. Enter your current stock quantity — this decrements automatically as orders come in. A SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) is optional but highly recommended for inventory tracking.
Product Images

Images are the single biggest factor in a buyer's decision to purchase. Every product should have at least one main image and ideally 4–6 additional images showing different angles, in-use scenarios, and packaging.

Image requirements
Minimum 800×800px for main image (1200×1200px recommended). White or clean neutral background for main image. JPEG or PNG, max 5MB per image. No watermarks from other platforms (Jumia, Konga, Amazon, etc.). Images must accurately represent the product being sold.
  • Shot 1: Product alone on white background — this becomes your listing thumbnail
  • Shot 2–3: Different angles (front, side, back where relevant)
  • Shot 4: In-use or lifestyle photo showing the product being used
  • Shot 5: Close-up of key features, texture, or quality details
  • Shot 6: Packaging or what's included in the box
Pricing & Stock

Price your products to be competitive while accounting for the 5% platform fee and your delivery cost (if you offer free shipping). You can set a promotional price alongside the regular price — the listing will automatically show a strikethrough with the discount percentage calculated.

SettingPurposeNotes
Regular PriceNormal selling price shown to buyersSet in ₦. Inclusive of VAT where applicable
Promo PriceDiscounted sale price (optional)Must be lower than Regular Price to activate discount badge
Stock QuantityUnits available for saleAuto-decrements on each order. Set to 0 to mark as Out of Stock
Low Stock AlertEmail alert when stock falls below thresholdDefault is 5 units. Set under Store Settings
SKUYour internal stock reference codeOptional but recommended for multi-product catalogues
Categories & SEO

Choosing the right category and subcategory is critical — it determines where your product appears in buyer browsing and filter searches. Once set, categories can be changed but any changes take up to 6 hours to reflect in search results.

For on-site SEO, the most important fields are your product title, the first 100 characters of your description, and your category selection. Buyers searching for "men's leather shoes Lagos" will see your product if those words appear naturally in your listing — don't stuff keywords, write naturally for buyers.

Orders & Fulfilment
How to receive, process, dispatch, and resolve orders efficiently.
Receiving Orders

When a buyer places an order, you'll receive an instant notification by email and in-dashboard alert. New orders appear in Dashboard → Orders under the status Pending. You have 48 hours to process a new order before it is flagged as overdue.

Do not cancel orders unnecessarily
Vendor-initiated order cancellations count against your performance metrics. Cancellation rates above 5% in any 30-day period will trigger a performance review. If you cannot fulfil an order due to stock issues, contact support immediately rather than cancelling without notice.
Processing & Dispatch

To process an order, open it in your dashboard, confirm the items and the delivery address, then mark it as Processing. Once you have packaged and dispatched the item, enter the courier name and tracking number and update the status to Dispatched. The buyer is automatically notified at each status change.

  • Pack items securely — damaged-in-transit claims affect your rating even when the damage is the courier's fault
  • Include a packing slip or thank-you note — small gestures improve reviews
  • Always get a waybill or tracking number from the courier — you'll need this if a buyer disputes delivery
  • Update tracking information within 24 hours of dispatch
Handling Returns

When a buyer requests a return, you'll be notified in your dashboard and by email. You have 48 hours to respond. Review the buyer's reason and evidence, then choose one of three responses:

Accept the Return
Provide a return label or arrange courier collection within 3 business days. Process the refund within 7 business days of receiving the item.
Propose a Resolution
Offer a replacement, partial refund, or store credit as an alternative. The buyer must agree — you cannot impose a resolution.

If you do not respond within 48 hours, Ajaro will automatically resolve the dispute in the buyer's favour. See the Refund Policy for full details.

Payouts & Finance
Understand how and when you get paid.
Payout Setup

Add your bank account under Dashboard → Profile → Bank Account. Your account name must match your registered vendor name or business name exactly. Bank account changes require re-verification and take up to 2 business days to activate.

Account name must match exactly
Payouts are made only to accounts where the account name matches your registered vendor name. Mismatches will cause payouts to be delayed for manual review. Do not use a third party's account for receiving payouts — this violates our AML policy and may result in account suspension.
Withdrawals

Your earnings accumulate in your Ajaro wallet balance after each order is marked as Delivered. You can withdraw any amount above the ₦2,000 minimum threshold at any time from Dashboard → Wallet → Withdraw. Withdrawals typically arrive in your bank account within 1–3 business days.

No withdrawal fees
Ajaro does not charge any fees on withdrawals. The only deduction from your earnings is the 5% platform fee, which is applied at the point of sale — not at withdrawal.
Revenue & Fees

For every completed order, you receive 95% of the transaction value. The 5% platform fee is all-inclusive — it covers payment gateway costs, fraud protection, and buyer support. There are no hidden charges.

ItemRateWhen Applied
Platform Commission5% of order valuePer completed, delivered order
Monthly Subscription₦4,999 – ₦29,999Per active store, per billing cycle
Withdrawal Fee₦0Never
Late Renewal Penalty10% of subscription costOnly if store expires before renewal
Admin Fee (late refund processing)₦500Only if Ajaro processes a refund on your behalf
Tax & Invoicing

You are responsible for your own tax obligations as an independent vendor. Ajaro provides a monthly transaction summary downloadable from Dashboard → Finance → Transaction History to assist with tax reporting. If Ajaro is required by FIRS to withhold tax on payments made to you, we will do so and provide a withholding tax certificate.

All subscription fees attract VAT at the prevailing Nigerian rate (currently 7.5%), which is included in the quoted price and reflected in your subscription invoices.

Team Management
Invite and manage Managers and Staff members on your account.
Manager Role

A Manager has broad access to your vendor account — they can manage products, process orders, view financial reports, manage customers, and invite other staff members. They cannot access or change your bank account details, subscription billing, or primary account settings.

Best for: Operations managers and business partners
Assign the Manager role to people you trust with full day-to-day operations — someone who runs the business alongside you but shouldn't have access to change financial settings.
Staff Role

A Staff member has limited access — they can view and manage product listings and process orders only. They cannot view financial data, access customer personal information beyond shipping details, change store settings, or invite other users.

Inviting Admins

Go to Dashboard → My Team → Invite Admin. Enter the email address of the person you're inviting and select their role (Manager or Staff). They will receive an invitation email with a secure setup link that expires after 48 hours. Your account supports up to 5 Admin slots in total (Starter: 2, Growth/Enterprise: 5).

You are responsible for your Admins' actions
Any action taken by a Manager or Staff member on your account is treated as your action under the Vendor Agreement. Only invite people you trust, and revoke access immediately if a team member leaves your business.

Promotions & Ads
Grow your visibility and drive more sales with Platform tools.
Store Promotions

You can create time-limited sale events from Dashboard → Promotions → New Promotion. Set a start and end date, choose which products to include, and set discounted prices. Active promotions display a red SALE badge on affected product listings and appear in the Platform's promotional feed.

Ad Banners

Growth and Enterprise plan subscribers can purchase ad banner placements to display their store or a featured product across the Ajaro homepage and category pages. Ad banners are managed under Dashboard → Ads & Banners → Create Ad. Upload your banner image (recommended 1200×400px), set your budget, target category, and campaign dates.

Ad approval required
All ad banners are reviewed by Ajaro within 24 hours before going live. Ads must comply with our advertising guidelines — no misleading claims, no competitor disparagement, and no prohibited product categories.
Discount Codes

Create unique discount codes from Dashboard → Promotions → Discount Codes. Set a percentage or fixed-amount discount, minimum order value, usage limit, and expiry date. Share codes with your social media followers or email subscribers to drive repeat purchases.

Performance Tips
  • Maintain a ≥4.0 store rating — your star rating is displayed on every listing and directly affects buyer trust and search ranking
  • Respond to buyer enquiries quickly — stores with sub-12-hour average response times see 30%+ higher conversion rates
  • Keep stock levels accurate — out-of-stock listings damage search ranking over time
  • Use all 6 product image slots — listings with 6 images outperform single-image listings by an average of 2×
  • Renew promotions regularly — fresh sale badges attract new visitors even to older listings
  • Request reviews proactively — after confirming delivery, send buyers a polite message thanking them and mentioning that a review helps your store

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does KYC approval take?
Individual vendor KYC is typically approved within 1 business day. Business vendor KYC (with CAC documents) takes 2–3 business days. Enterprise plan subscribers receive priority review with a 4-hour SLA. You can build your store and add products while awaiting KYC — they just won't be visible to buyers until approval.
Can I have multiple stores under one account?
Yes. Growth plan allows up to 3 stores; Enterprise allows unlimited stores. Each store has its own subscription fee, branding, product catalogue, and analytics. This is ideal if you sell across multiple categories and want to maintain separate brands.
When do I receive my payout after a sale?
Your earnings are credited to your Ajaro wallet when an order is marked as Delivered. You can then withdraw any amount above ₦2,000 at any time. Withdrawals arrive in your bank account within 1–3 business days. There is no withdrawal fee.
What happens if my store subscription expires?
Your store is suspended and no longer visible to buyers. All data is retained for 30 days. You can renew at any time to reactivate — your products, orders, and settings are preserved. Renewing within 7 days of expiry incurs a 10% late renewal fee. After 30 days, the store data may be permanently deleted.
Can I sell on other platforms at the same time?
Yes. Ajaro is a non-exclusive platform — you're free to also sell on Jumia, Konga, Instagram, your own website, or anywhere else. The only restriction is that you must not direct Ajaro buyers to complete purchases off the Platform to avoid our fees.
How do I improve my store's search ranking?
The top ranking factors are: store rating (aim for 4.0+), order fulfilment rate (≥95%), number of completed orders, recency of activity (keep listings updated), number and quality of buyer reviews, and accurate, keyword-rich product titles and descriptions. Running active promotions also boosts your placement in relevant category pages.
